Scripture
Matthew 5:10–12
“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake… Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great.”
What Jesus Is Teaching
Jesus acknowledges that living faithfully may bring opposition. Persecution for righteousness is not punishment but confirmation that one belongs to God’s Kingdom.
Those who walk in truth sometimes stand against cultural expectations or misunderstanding. Yet Jesus calls His followers to rejoice, reminding them that their reward is secure in Him.
Why This Matters for Discipleship
Discipleship includes perseverance. Faithfulness is not measured by comfort but by continued obedience even when it is costly.
God sees every act of courage lived for His sake.
Walking It Out
If you experience resistance or misunderstanding because of your faith today:
- pray for the person involved,
- respond with humility,
- thank God for strengthening your faith.
Reflect & Respond
Where have you experienced pushback for living faithfully?
How might God invite you to respond with joy instead of discouragement?
