SERVE IN SECRET

Matthew 6:3-4 says,

“But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”

There’s a temptation when you serve to make sure people know about it. You want recognition. You want credit. You want people to see how sacrificial you are, how generous you are, how committed you are.

But Jesus says, do it in secret. Serve where no one sees. Give where no one knows. Don’t broadcast your good deeds.

Why? Because when you serve for recognition, you get your reward here—people’s approval. But when you serve in secret, your reward comes from the Father.

The question is: Whose approval are you after?
