Scripture
Jesus said:
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth…”
— John 16:13 (NASB 1995)
What Jesus Is Teaching
Jesus did not call His followers to live the Christian life in their own strength. He promised the Holy Spirit to guide, teach, and lead them into truth.
The Spirit works within us, shaping our hearts and directing our steps as we learn to follow Jesus daily. Discipleship is not self-powered effort but a relationship of dependence on God’s presence.
As we grow, we learn to recognize His gentle guidance through Scripture, conviction, wisdom, and peace aligned with God’s character.
Why This Matters for Discipleship
Many believers try to grow spiritually through determination alone, but transformation happens as we learn to listen and respond to the Spirit’s leading.
Discipleship deepens when we slow down enough to notice God’s invitation in everyday moments. The Spirit helps us apply truth personally and walk faithfully in real situations.
We are not alone in learning to follow Jesus.
Walking It Out
Today, set aside five quiet minutes.
Ask:
What might the Holy Spirit be inviting me into today?
Sit quietly and listen. Write down any thoughts or impressions that align with Scripture and God’s character.
Take one small step in response to what you sense God leading you toward.
Reflect & Respond
- Do you expect God to guide your daily life?
- When have you sensed God leading you in the past?
- What helps you slow down enough to listen?
Prayer
Holy Spirit, teach me to recognize Your voice and trust Your guidance. Quiet my distractions and help me walk in step with You today. Lead me into truth and shape my life to reflect Jesus. Amen.
Closing Invitation
Discipleship grows best in relationships. If you’re ready to walk this journey with others, we invite you to join the journey.
