Proverbs 4:23 says,
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.”
Your heart is the control center of your life. What’s in your heart determines what comes out in your words, your actions, your attitudes, your decisions.
If your heart is filled with bitterness, that’s what will overflow. If it’s filled with lust, that’s what will overflow. If it’s filled with pride, fear, envy, greed—same thing.
But if your heart is filled with God’s Word, God’s truth, God’s love—that’s what will overflow.
You have to guard your heart. That means being careful what you let in. What you watch. What you listen to. Who you spend time with. What you feed your mind and soul.
Garbage in, garbage out. Truth in, truth out.
